Mega Lottery Numbers

In the USA there are two major lottery competitors – the Powerball lotto and the Mega Millions game (also known as The Big Game!). The states which approve of gambling can play in either lottery (but not both). Both lotteries have produced many winners and both boast huge jackpots for entrants, especially when there has been a rollover. The biggest jackpot was $390 million in March 2007 and could choose to take a lump sum or take the prize in 26 instalments.

There are plenty of rules and taxes that rule the Mega Lottery game – it goes beyond just choosing the right lottery numbers! Tickets can be bought until 10pm EST usually and before the draw. Mega millions winnings are also exempt from income tax in states like California, New Jersey and Texas.

When you play mega lottery remember that in total you are choosing six numbers or balls to play with. Sounds simple? In fact with just that small selection of numbers, there are endless possibilities of what one would come up with. Pick five white balls and one gold ball; if the golden ball comes up, even on its own you will win a prize of $2 anything up to the jackpot. In order to win the jackpot you absolutely need to match the gold mega millions ball as well the five main numbers.

You can choose the same number in the golden ball and the general ball since they use different machines to operate. However you can not switch these balls over – so if you have number 16 in the white main ball, and the 16 comes out in the gold ball, these cannot be in any circumstances swapped over. Therefore always check your ticket and make sure the numbers you chose correspond with what you are seeing.

As well as the bonus ball don’t forget the Texas Multiplier – if you are in Texas, the multiplier will give people the chance to win a prize and a big one at that – it is similar to all the add on games in the UK lottery, such as Thunderball and Dream number.

Mega Millions actually has longer jackpot odds than the other very popular lottery game in the U.S, the Powerball. The odds of Powerball are 1:146 million and Mega Million, especially when it adds Florida as a playing state in 2009, and will change the odds of winning to 1:195 million.

Don’t miss out on your chance to win a huge prize on Mega millions! First step is to buy a lottery ticket and choose a set of numbers which may be important to you or are completely random. The draw is held twice a week on Tuesday and Saturday so why not give it a go if you aren’t luck the first time? The show is also broadcast from Atlanta and there are special shows from New York sometimes depending on how big the overall jackpot prize is – it becomes quite an event for those involved!
